Recently, my 6-year-old daughter and I were the victims of an attempted armed robbery practically in front of the school where my daughter studies. It was just before the students were let out, and luckily nothing happened to us, but this was only possible due to the fact that we own an armored vehicle.
Violence is really limitless. The fact that criminals are near children’s schools where they can find their victims in a much more fragile state is extremely worrying. Fathers and mothers leave their children, their most valuable possession, in the crosshairs of criminals’ guns.
Having an armored car currently in a city like São Paulo is no longer a luxury item but a security item.
The simple fact was that my daughter did not realize how serious the threat of violence to which we were subjected, and being able to get home safely and without trauma was worth all the investment made in the acquisition of the armored vehicle.
It is important to note that the police were warned and with the images I provided of the event (the car has a DashCam), it was possible to reinforce the policing in the area and the criminals were arrested two days later, when trying to rob someone else.
Society needs a quick response from the public authorities, because we and our children can no longer be held hostage to the criminality that is there, daily.
